Position: Reading Development Consultant (Sales)

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours/week

Start date: Autumn Term, 2021

We are looking for a highly self-motivated educational professional to work as part of a small sales team to continue to develop our brand-awareness and sales UK-wide. The position would suit either an educational professional (e.g. teacher with experience at senior or middle management level) or a sales executive with experience in the education sector.

Based in our Gateshead office, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing company with a proven track record in educational sales and consultancy. Reporting directly to the Sales Director, you would be responsible for raising awareness of, and supporting the implementation of, Reading Plus in primary and secondary schools. Using your understanding of the pressures that schools are under to achieve excellence, you would be responsible for running pilots that demonstrate the impact of Reading Plus, ultimately leading to buy-in at Senior Leadership level.

As well as supporting pilots of Reading Plus (generating and developing leads, training, analysing data and compiling reports, closing pilots), you would also be responsible for presenting to Headteachers/Senior Leaders in Multi Academy Trusts and participating in Reading Solutions UK Reading Conferences. Currently, all sales activities are carried out virtually via Zoom or Microsoft Teams but, going forward, there may be the need to do these in person.

You will need to be an effective and influential communicator, IT literate (Microsoft Office), with excellent organisational skills. An understanding of current educational practice relating to English/literacy is also essential. As the role may involve travelling to schools (and may include some overnight stays), you will need access to your own car/transport and a current clean driving licence.

Full training will be given on how to use Reading Plus and the consultative sales process. There may be opportunities for the right person to take up a more senior position in the company at a later date.
