“Fantastic to have something of this quality in the North East!”
Over 100 delegates spanning from classroom teachers, to senior leaders and headteachers from across the North East joined us at the Ramside Hall Hotel in Durham for our second #ReadingForPleasure2019 Conference.
Did you miss out? Don’t worry! Watch our video below and feel like you were part of the day!
Adam Bushnell (children’s author and co-creator of Sentence Samauri) brought us workshops on the importance of Reading in KS2, Writing at Greater Depth, and Creative Writing in KS2. Adam also shared his experience as a primary school teacher that has led to him teaching around the world.
“A very useful day, especially Adam’s presentations. It was nice to discuss improvements with teachers from other schools.”
Headteacher Steve Price spoke candidly about ‘Reading Honestly: Let’s Not All Pretend We Enjoy Reading…’! and English Lead, Carrieanne Pitois, shared best practice on how they turned Reading for Pleasure on its head!
“A really informative day with lots of useful information to take back to school.”
Other presentations from the day included:
Clair Freeman (Reading Development Consultant) ‘Preparing for the EIF: Deep Dive in Reading. You can click here to download our free e-book on preparing for the Deep Dive.
